I am all about making mini yet practical upgrades to each room in our little apartment. Obviously, we can’t make too many changes, but I like to work with what we’ve got to make it feel more like our own. Our bathroom has these cute little built-in shelves which I honestly would have preferred to be a linen closet (bc frick, there is no storage in this place) but I will say that I have made the very most of it and that I am very happy with how it turned out!
If you are looking for inexpensive, practical and good lookin’ decor ideas for your bathroom, I recommend that you stick around.
Baskets
There’s nothing I love more than a basket when I am trying to spruce up a space. If you read my Colorado Apartment Details post, then you would have seen my quick shoutout to these practical, stylish suckers. As soon as I saw these built-in shelves, I knew that adding baskets would be the easiest way to make them both functional and aesthetic.
I purchased the wicker baskets ages ago and re-purposed them. At the top, I store nail polishes, chapsticks, extra razors, cotton rounds, makeup brush cleaner and more. It’s practically a catch-all for all of my smaller but random bathroom essentials. These items are at the top because I don’t really want anyone seeing in this basket. If I’m being honest, it’s a total mess in there.
In the wicker basket on the middle shelf, I store all of my Monat products. From extra shampoo and conditioners to styling products and masks, this basket holds some of my favorite products ever. They are pretty too, so I don’t mind that they are out in the open.
I grabbed the wire baskets from Target for $8 each which I thought was an absolute steal! I originally had the white towels and toilet paper just chilling on the shelf, but it looked pretty unfinished. I am really happy with how these ended up looking especially for the price.
Prints
The print is a 16×20 digital download from Etsy that I got printed for just a few dollars at Walgreens and the hanging frame I got off of amazon! I am really impressed with the quality of this frame. It’s magnetic, so all you do is stick your print in between the wooden pieces. I think the whole thing cost me $15.
I found the frame on the shelf for a few bucks at Home Goods and stuck one of my favorite photos in it. I love the way it looks next to the plant – which is fake. I won’t lie to you.
Towels
All of the towels I have in this corner are from Target.
The black towel pictured came in a set, so I usually keep two here. The white towels are different sizes and styles, so I folded them up to look as similar as possible. I don’t continuously do this. These towels have literally not been touched since I put them there. We use random colored towels on the hooks on the other side of the bathroom (just keeping it real.)
I love the way this corner turned out, but what I love about it the most is how inexpensive it was to decorate. I usually get bored with the way certain corners of my house are decorated, but this one is here to stay for a while!
