I make this recipe once or twice a week on average because it is so freakin’ easy and yummy. Before making green beans this way, I never ever would buy them because I didn’t know how to make them! I can handle steaming all kinds of vegetables, but for some reason, I never knew how to make them unless they were in a steamable bag. I like making green beans this way because they still snap when you bite into them, unlike the super-soft steamed ones.
The best thing about making them this way is that you can really put any seasonings on them. I like to keep it super simple with garlic and butter, but I think lemon and parmesan would be great too.
Anyway, here’s what you need!
INGREDIENTS:
- Green Beans
- 1/4 Cup Water
- 1 Tsp Butter
- 1/2 Tsp Garlic
- Salt & Pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Clean and cut the ends off of your green beans.
- Add water and green beans into a large pan on medium-high heat.
- Once the water starts to boil, cover for 2-3 minutes.
- Uncover green beans. Add butter and garlic into the pan.
- Let simmer until all water is evaporated.
- Add salt and pepper to taste
That’s it! This takes such little time, and even if you do leave them on for a little longer, it’s totally fine. If they are done before other parts of your meal, either leave them on low or take them off the heat and keep them covered!
