As with any personal care product, there are hundreds of options to choose from, so when it comes to straying away from your tried and true since the 8th-grade drugstore secret deodorant, you probably don’t want to even bother exploring other options. I get it, but I also get the importance of using safe products on my body – and I hope you do too!
To help give you some direction and hopefully prevent you from buying products that might not work well for you, I am offering my thoughts on a few natural deodorants that I have given a go in the last couple of years. Some were a total yay and some were more like an “eh.”
Of course, some products work very well on some people and not so well on the others, so I want to make sure that you know that this is just my opinion and personal experience!
Now that all that’s been said, let’s dive into my review of the Kopari Coconut Deodorant.
My first impression of the Kopari is that it has fantastic packaging but a very intense coconut smell. If you don’t like coconut you absolutely will not like this! I usually do love the smell, but it threw me off just a little, so be aware of that.
It goes on super smooth. It’s a different texture than any other deodorant I have ever tried actually because it glides on clear, is not sticky and has a cooling aloe-like feel. I don’t remember ever having a problem with getting white deodorant lines on my shirt which makes for a total win in and of itself.
It lasted me anywhere between 6-8 months which I thought was a REALLY long time for deodorant, and I re-purchased it. However, after about 2-3 months of my second bottle, I found that it wasn’t working very well. I have never been a smelly gal, but there were multiple days in a row I was like “what in the hell is going on?! Is that me? It can’t be me!” You guessed it – it was me.
Naturally, I stopped using it on a regular basis, and I still have that second bottle. I’m the kind of gal that showers at night, puts on deodorant and doesn’t need to re-apply in the morning. I’m just not a smelly girl, I don’t know how else to put it, but I found myself re-applying in the morning to make sure I didn’t start to smell mid-day the following day.
I will say that I do still use the Kopari on days when I know I’m just hanging out at home or running errands on a not-so-hot day. It works great for days like that.
As far as recommending it goes, I wouldn’t. I used to, and I wish that I didn’t. The reason for that is because if a not-so-smelly gal got slightly smelly, I can’t even imagine what it would be like for someone who usually battles that.
Like I said previously though, every product is different for every person, and this product honestly has fantastic reviews everywhere! It just didn’t work that great for me long-term.
I hope this helped a little on your natural deodorant journey. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment or send me an email!
