Ok friend, let’s talk about armpits. Yep, I said that. I’m back with another natural deodorant review!
This time, we are talking about Primally Pure. If you have been keeping up with me for any amount of time, you may have heard me rave about their products, and well, their deodorant is no different.
Let’s get into it, shall we?
The lemongrass deodorant was the first natural deodorant I ever tried, so I expected to go through an armpit detox. To my surprise, I didn’t experience the dreaded detox phase that is so often talked about (hallelujah!) If you’ve never heard of it, I recommend you read up on armpit detoxes over on their blog. I can’t say for sure that my lack of detox is because I used this specific brand, but I do think that it speaks to the quality of the product.
My first impression, as silly as this sounds, is how sturdy and sleek the packaging is. The bottle has a twist cap, and the material is like a heavy-duty plastic. I don’t know how to explain it really, but it’s awesome. As someone who is not careful with any of their belongings, I love this.
The product itself looks like a “normal” deodorant, but the consistency is unlike anything I’ve tried. I can’t speak to any of the other scents, but the lemongrass has a thicker consistency than your average drugstore deodorant. Sometimes I love this, sometimes I don’t. The product tends to chunk up on the sides so I end up having to smooth it out, but it’s no big deal.
The smell is just… wow. I love it so much, and I love that it comes directly from organic lemongrass essential oil. That’s really all I can say about the scent, you just have to trust me here. It is heavenly.
As far as price goes, I consider it comparable to drugstore brands. I don’t know about you, but when I used to use drugstore deodorant, I would go through a bottle every other month. This bottle (2.5 oz) lasts me anywhere from 6-8 months, depending on the season. If you break down the price, that’s anywhere from $2-3 a month which is similar to (if not less than) your average drugstore option. The 2.5 oz size is $20, and the 1.7 oz is $14.
I will say that I have never been someone that sweats that much. Sure, after a spin class I’m dripping a little, but I’m not the kind of person who sweats through the front or back of their shirt. I can not speak to this product’s performance in those scenarios, but I do know that they offer a charcoal deodorant which is apparently recommended for athletes or for those of you that sweat more.
As with any product I review, I want you to remember that some products work very well on some people and not so well on the others, so I hope you file this review under “research” and use it to find the deodorant brand that is right for you if Primally Pure isn’t your jam!
On a final note, I recommend this brand and its products to every single one of my friends. I absolutely love and believe in their products, and I highly recommend that if you’re thinking about dipping your toes in the natural deodorant water to give this one a try! You can use my code, HAILEY10, to save yourself some money too!
